If you visit the Smoky Mountains, don't feed anything. Everything is off limits. My intentions were good, just feed a few crows, but I was wrong. I realized I'd goofed, big time, when this dinner guest showed up.

The bear had to climb up this wooden column to get on our deck. It seems like a long way up, but he made it look easy. One paw over the other, it was effortless. You'd think a bear that must weigh over four hundreds pounds, would lumber around on the deck railing, but he moved so gracefully he could have been wearing a tutu and ballet slippers. Step, step, twirl around the deck on his tip toes, eat some lunch and slip quietly away to go have a little nap.

After watching him a while I can see how some people are disillusioned into believing that they could just walk up and hand him a little snack, but just one look at his claws and they bring you back to reality.
