Astronomy @ the Library

The Cincinnati Observatory, in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first use of a telescope, has established an exciting program called "40 Galileos: Starry Messenger." Through this innovative program, the observatory will give away 40 quality telescopes to individuals and organizations in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky to be shared with their local communities.

The Batesville Memorial Public Library is pleased to announce that we will be one of the recipients of a telescope from the Cincinnati Observatory, on September 11, 2009.
