Election information from the federal down to the municipal level can be found at the NJ VoterInfo.org website, which is a non-profit, non-partisan site dealing with elections and public affairs issues affecting New Jersey. It is published by the highly respected Eagleton Institute of Politics, housed at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

Registration forms can be found online at the New Jersey Division of Elections website. They must be received 21 days before the election or in this year’s case by 10/14/08 before the general election which is on 11/4/08. Voter registration forms can be found in English, as well as Spanish, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin & Gujarati. You can also find out about filing an absentee ballot.

The website for the independent Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, known for its exactness and thoroughness, surveys residents in New Jersey and surrounding states about political issues. Their polls are regularly featured in the Washington Post, New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal, as well as other national publications. Poll releases can be searched over the past two years.
