These are Key West City Directories from our library vault that were digitized by our partners at University of Florida. They are part of the State University System's Florida Heritage Collection. 

City Directories are similar to our modern phone books, but provide much more information. Occupation, place of work, and ethnicity are frequently indicated. On the 1888 directory, see page 49 for a key to the abbreviations used. The 1906-1907 directory has a key on page 67.
